On Behalf of the College of Emergency Nursing Australasia (CENA) I would like to invite you to the International Conference for Emergency Nurses (ICEN) to be held from the 19th to the 21st of October 2016. The conference is being held in Alice Springs marking the first time ICEN has been held in the Northern Territory and in a rural location.

Our theme “Emergency Care: Expanding the Horizon” aims to explore the innovation, adaptation and perseverance of delivering emergency care in challenging environments. The ICEN 2016 subthemes include:

  • Access and delivery of emergency care in austere, rural and remote areas;
  • Innovative models of emergency care delivery;
  • Patient focused care delivery in vulnerable population groups.

ICEN 2016 will also have a strong social program intended to bring colleagues and friends together to share in the beauty of outback Northern Territory. The conference one million star dinner will be the main feature of the social program giving delegates a very unique experience in Alice Springs.

ICEN 2016 will be a rare opportunity to share, learn and come together in one of Australia’s most unique environments.

Dialogue and commitment by healthcare organisations and government to implement adequate security measures and violence prevention programs is needed. Addressing triggers such as overcrowding, access block and ramping is essential. Support for victims is paramount. ... See MoreSee Less
